Fun with MA COVID-19 Reporting 29-Oct-2020 Greater-Greater Somerville Local Edition

(All average cases listed are 14-day averages and are per 100,000, which means that it's comparable between cities without regard for each city's population)

Before we begin.... HOLY SH#$ that map is BAD
  • Arlington (green) - "flirting with yellow" was last week's comment.... well... no longer flirting.... 0.2->0.6->1.6->2.3->2.2->1.9->3.1->2.5->1.4->3.9->6.5
  • Boston (getting redder) - Daaaamn. 6.0->6.4->7.1->7.4->7.5->7.7>7.9->8.5->10.0->11.1->12.0->15.8
  • Cambridge (green) - good job on getting back to green, though just barely 2.4->2.5->1.8->1.6->2.0->2.2->2.4->2.5->2.4->3.3->4.1->3.9
  • Chelsea (RED!!!) - and back to getting redder 25? 31.9->29.4->25->22.9->22.4->18.8->22.4->30.9->28.4->32.6
  • Fitchburg (turned RED!!!) - holy f@#$ 3.6->4.6->2.4->2.4->3.1->2.2->1.5->1.5->2.4->3.9->4.7->21.4
  • Holliston (red) - 5.7->3.1->1.0->8.3->9.3->5.7->8.8->9.3->13.0
  • Lawrence (REDDER!!!!!!) - 8.6->10.0->14.9->20.5->16.9->22.1->25.4->35.2->41.9->45.9->52.8
  • Lowell (RED) - I said last week that staying steady at such a red point wasn't great but.... it was better than this.... 2.9->2.7->4.2->5.9->6.4->7.9->10.9->16.3->16.4->16.3->17.6
  • Lynn (redder) - 24.3->23.5->16.7->12.1->9.5.->12.7->11.3->10.1->9.8->12.3->17.3->25.7
  • Malden (red) - 4.2->3.6->5.5->7.4->6.0->4.7->5.9->10.4->12.5->11.4->13.6
  • Medford (red) - as expected.... 4.5->3.6->3.1->4.5->5.4->4.7->4.3->4.8->5.9->6.7->7.5->8.2
  • Quincy (yellow) - at least you're still yellow... 3.7->3.0->2.7->3.1->3.1->3.7->4.4->6.0->6.9->6.5->7.0
  • Salem (yellow) - Given the season, I'm impressed that you're still yellow. Hopefully you can continue to maintain that and get better after the holiday season comes to a close this weekend 8.3->10.5->6.5->4.9->5.2->4.0->4.0->5.2->6.3->7.1->5.9->7.1
  • Somerville (turned yellow) - well, we're back to yellow.... for how long? 3.7->4.7->5.8->7.7->7.6->4.9->3.8->6.1->8.2->8.5->7.5
  • Springfield (red) - 4.5->3.2->2.5->3.0->3.3->4.3->8.3->14.6->14.4->11.7->15.9
Ok, seriously though... scrolling through the first 2 pages of cities/towns alarmed me about the amount of red so I scrolled through to the map and ....wow.... we're running out of non-yellow/red cities/towns in the eastern 2/3 of the state.... once again I'd like to thank Gov Baker for his leadership in his effort to ensure we make the map all red.

Have a city/town you'd like me to keep track of? Let me know and I'll get started.

Stay Safe. Stay Sane. Stay Informed.
