Fun with MA COVID-19 Reporting 06-Nov-2020 Greater-Greater Somerville Local Edition

(All average cases listed are 14-day averages and are per 100,000, which means that it's comparable between cities without regard for each city's population)

Before we begin.... Since the new color-coding are utter bs, I'm sticking with the old color-coding.  It does not take 10+ times the rate of cases in a small town to come to the same risk as in a city!  If you didn't understand that Baker is literally doing anything he can to pretend we're doing ok, perhaps maybe now you do?
  • Arlington (yellow) - 0.2->0.6->1.6->2.3->2.2->1.9->3.1->2.5->1.4->3.9->6.5->5.1 Thanks for not getting worse... coming from the Boston weekly report I know what's coming next but this was a bit of nice news.  Thank you....  (note, you're green in the new report because of bs)
  • Boston (getting redder) - 6.0->6.4->7.1->7.4->7.5->7.7>7.9->8.5->10.0->11.1->12.0->15.8->18.4 Not as bad as the weekly report shows but that's because it is based on slightly more recent data, so, next week is going to be REAL depressing (as opposed to right now where it's just somewhat depressing. (note, you're yellow in the new report because it's bs)
  • Cambridge (yellow) - 2.4->2.5->1.8->1.6->2.0->2.2->2.4->2.5->2.4->3.3->4.1->3.9->5.0 .... and back to yellow... come on gang, you're supposed to show us how it's done. (note, you're green in the new report because of bs)
  • Chelsea (RED!!!) - and back to getting redder 25? 31.9->29.4->25->22.9->22.4->18.8->22.4->30.9->28.4->32.6->45.1 ... I got nothing
  • Fitchburg (RED!!!) - holy f@#$ 3.6->4.6->2.4->2.4->3.1->2.2->1.5->1.5->2.4->3.9->4.7->21.4->39.2 ... please stop trying to catch Chelsea
  • Holliston (red) - 5.7->3.1->1.0->8.3->9.3->5.7->8.8->9.3->13.0->18.2 (note, you're yellow in the new report because it's bs)
  • Lawrence (REDDER!!!!!!) -  8.6->10.0->14.9->20.5->16.9->22.1->25.4->35.2->41.9->45.9->52.8->62.4
  • Lowell (RED) - I said last week that staying steady at such a red point wasn't great but.... it was better than this.... 2.9->2.7->4.2->5.9->6.4->7.9->10.9->16.3->16.4->16.3->17.6->27.7
  • Lynn (REDDER!!!) -  24.3->23.5->16.7->12.1->9.5.->12.7->11.3->10.1->9.8->12.3->17.3->25.7->34.4
  • Malden (redder) - 4.2->3.6->5.5->7.4->6.0->4.7->5.9->10.4->12.5->11.4->13.6->16.5 (note, you're yellow in the new report because it's bs)
  • Medford (red) - as expected.... 4.5->3.6->3.1->4.5->5.4->4.7->4.3->4.8->5.9->6.7->7.5->8.2->10.6 (note, you're yellow in the new report because it's bs)
  • Quincy (yellow) - at least you're still yellow... 3.7->3.0->2.7->3.1->3.1->3.7->4.4->6.0->6.9->6.5->7.0->7.9 Thank you for staying yellow.  (note, you're green in the new report because of bs)
  • Salem (turned red) - 8.3->10.5->6.5->4.9->5.2->4.0->4.0->5.2->6.3->7.1->5.9->7.1->14.1 I'm so sorry.  You were doing so well and the last month couldn't have been easy on you... in many ways... hopefully with the holiday season over, you can get healthy again (note, you're yellow in the new report because it's bs)
  • Somerville (red) - 3.7->4.7->5.8->7.7->7.6->4.9->3.8->6.1->8.2->8.5->7.5->9.3 ... and back to red again (note, you're yellow in the new report because it's bs)
  • Springfield (REDDER!!) - 4.5->3.2->2.5->3.0->3.3->4.3->8.3->14.6->14.4->11.7->15.9->24.6
Don't be fooled by the new color-coding.  Number of cases matters so much more than percent of tests that come back positive and by that determination, only 1 place reduced in cases.  Only 3 are below 10 and one of those is above 9.  We're getting so much worse right now and Baker is essentially lying to his constituents.

Have a city/town you'd like me to keep track of? Let me know and I'll get started.

Stay Safe. Stay Sane. Stay Informed.
