Fun with MA COVID-19 Reporting 12-Jun-2021 Edition

There's only good news right now... ok, there's good news with warning signs?

Cases per day continue to fall.  Sure, we went from decreasing week over week by over a hundred cases per day (503.8->360.4->196.3) or by single digits of cases per day per 100k people (7.3->5.2->2.8) and that has slowed considerably for the week of May 30 (133.4 cases per day or 1.9 cases per day per 100k), but that's still slowing the spread.

Deaths fell to below 5 per day for the week of May 30!  In "post covid" times I would hope that we would see fewer than single digits but perhaps that just means we're not in "post covid" times as has been suggested by some.  And this past week, while seeing a couple days above 5 so far (numbers aren't in for yesterday or today and Thursday's are bound to increase) the average appears to still about 5 (just below, currently)

Hospital use is also still decreasing, though only single digit hospital beds per day. ICU and ventilator use has also continued to decrease, though less than 3 people per day in each case with intubations only decreasing by about 1 person per day, but that's still better than the week of May 23 where we saw fewer than 1 person per day leaving the ICU and being taken off intubation.

Stay safe. Stay sane. Stay informed.
