Fun with MA COVID-19 Reporting 04-Aug-2021 (bitesized)

Yesterday I predicted that today's report would show that last week surpassed the average 699.4 cases per day we saw the week of October 11-17 2020 and, shockingly, it has.  Below are the updated numbers.

  • June 13-19 2021 - 71.9 cases per day (1.04 cases per 100,000 people per day)
  • June 20-26 2021 - 66.1 cases per day (0.96 cases per 100,000 people per day)
  • Jun 27-Jul 3 2021-78.7 cases per day (1.14 cases per 100,000 people per day)
  • July 4-10 2021  - 117.6 cases per day (1.71 cases per 100,000 people per day)
  • July 11-17 2021- 263.1 cases per day (3.82 cases per 100,000 people per day)
  • July 18-24 2021- 476.9 cases per day (6.92 cases per 100,000 people per day)
  • July 25-31 2021- 705.6 cases per day (10.24 cases per 100,000 people per day)
Will we reach October 18-24 2020 levels with this week?  Well, Sunday and Monday already stand at 500 and 737 cases respectively, with days left before they stop increasing.  For comparison, last week at this time, Sunday and Monday of the week were only at 345 and 433 cases respectively and grew by about 50 and 300 respectively since then.  I think by the end of next week we'll see that this week reached the average 1015.7 cases per day that we saw October 18-24 2020.

Stay safe. Stay informed.
