MA COVID-19 Cluster Review 04-Feb-2021

You know what I love?  When people say that kids don't spread COVID-19 as much as adults do.  Let's take another look at the clusters being reported by MA shall we?

For the currently outstanding clusters, in order by number of clusters that have come up in the last 4 weeks:
  • God Tier: Child Care at 142 clusters... 142!  want to know why I'm putting an exclamation mark after that? Take a look at the next tier's counts.
  • Second Tier:
    • Organized Athletics/Camps: 38
    • K-12 Schools: 26 (but no, spread doesn't happen at schools)
  • Teens Tier:
    • Restaurants & Food Courts: 18
    • Social Gatherings: 17 (yep, these are the only cause of the spread, right?)
    • Retail & Services: 15
    • Colleges & Universities: 15
    • Industrial Settings: 14
    • Hospitals: 13
  • Pre-Teens Tier:
    • Other Healthcare: 12
    • Other Workplaces: 10
  • Lowest:
    • Other Food Establishments: 15
    • Offices: 5
    • Places of Worship: 2
    • Recreational/Cultural: 1
If we review by looking at all new cases from new and ongoing clusters:
  • God Tier: Child Care: 651... 6 FUCKING 51!
  • 200's:
    • Hospitals: 256
    • Industrial Settings: 211
  • High 100's:
    • K-12 Schools: 181 (yep, still pressuring K-12 to be in-person and saying there's no risk there)
    • Social Gatherings: 179
    • Organized Athletics/Camps: 159 (I love all the ice hockey parents complaining that athletics get canceled when cases pop up in their community)
  • Low 100's
    • Restaurants & Food Courts: 117
    • Retail & Services: 114
  • Mid 10's:
    • Colleges & Universities: 69
    • Recreational/Cultural: 63
    • Other Healthcare: 58
    • Other Workplaces: 53
  • Lower 10's:
    • Other Food Establishments: 35
    • Offices: 26
    • Places of Worship: 24 (17 of which were from the 2 clusters, btw)
    • Other: 20
