Fun with MA COVID-19 Reporting 23-Jul-2021 Edition (Clusters)
There's been more shifting in the ranks of which settings are seeing the highest clusters and cases so let's take another look, shall we? Just a friendly reminder that the residence-based settings are removed on account of, well, you can't really prevent spread within a place of living, the whole effort has to be preventing it from spreading outside and coming in.
Another quick note: as cases reduced, high risk places became lower risk given the smaller spread in general. The below, therefore, really just shows us which activities we may want to contemplate limiting or reducing or maintaining our preventative measures while engaging in activities there (as opposed to taking all measures to avoid where at all possible).... with that said, spread is increasing quickly so, maybe reduce your engagement in the high/medium tiers. Restaurants still need our support but take-out/delivery are great ways to show support without engaging in the risk.
- High Tier - I did not expect child care to be overtaken but with the cases coming out of child care going down ever very so slightly and these two going up by more than two times the value in my last review, well..
- Social Gatherings - 26 clusters causing 57 cases (this was 27 clusters/20 cases just 2 weeks ago)
- Restaurants & Food Courts - 9 clusters causing 47 cases (8 clusters/2 cases just 2 weeks ago)
- Medium Tier
- Industrial Settings - 9 clusters causing 20 cases (a very very subtle increase)
- Child Care - 19 clusters causing 19 cases (represents a reduction, perhaps due to vacations and camps... especially given that Organized Athletics & Camps have ticked up)
- Low Tier - these are all relatively the same as they were in the last review, though Organized Athletics & Camps and K-12 Schools hadn't seen cases last time.
- Hospitals - 5 clusters causing 7 cases
- Other Workplaces - 5 clusters causing 5 cases
- Organized Athletics & Camps - 3 clusters causing 5 cases
- Other Healthcare - 3 clusters causing 5 cases
- Places of Worship - 5 clusters causing 4 cases
- Colleges & Universities - 1 clusters causing 4 cases
- K-12 Schools - 4 clusters causing 2 cases
- Ultra-Low Tier - Still having open clusters but no new confirmed cases
- Other - 1 cluster remaining open
- No Clusters Remaining Open
- Offices
- Recreational/Cultural
- Retail & Services
- Travel & Lodging
